About 2 weeks after my parents visit, a friend of church (who is a pilot) took me on a flight to Santa Monica (where my parents and I visited). It was a 40 minute flight to Santa Monica, we traveled about 150 mph fight along the pacific coastline. The view from up top was great! Because it was a small airplane we didn't have to fly so high; I could see everything. Even the Hollywood sign very close. On the flight home my pilot let me fly the plane from the passengers seat. It was actually one of the scariest things I've done in a long time. It's as if I had too much power. I didn't like the fact that if I barely moved the stick (which is used for steering - like a joy-stick) left and moved the feet pedals left, the plane would flip sideways in the air and send us as far left as humanly possible. I bet there's a lot of getting used to when flying a plane, but I don't think I'll put much effort into getting a pilot's license anytime soon. For now, I'll stick to my day job (parking cars. haha).
One more thing! yesterday was the grand opening of the new Toy Story parking lot on the corner of Harbor and Katella Blvd. The new parking lot is beautiful and I got to park it today.
During the grand opening yesterday at 7:30 am, I got to hear speeches from the mayor of Anaheim and the president of Disneyland. Together they cut the ribbon for the new parking lot as news reporters stood bye filming. My roommate and I were so under dressed! Very embarrassing. Everyone was in professional attire. Our managers were there and everything, and here we were in jeans and sweatshirts. But the free coffee and doughnuts made up for the embarrassment.
